Location: OHS Library
Details: Join Olympia High School College & Career Readiness Center for an event to assist parents and students with completion of the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid or WA State Aid (FAFSA or WAFSA). Financial Aid experts will be on hand to assist in clarifying questions and successful completion of these free applications for use at over 3,000 accredited universities, 2 year schools, technical colleges, trade and certification schools.
Vietnamese & Spanish translators will be on site to support families.

What to bring:
- An FSA ID to sign electronically. (This can be created beforehand at fsaid.ed.gov, or at the time of application.)
- List of colleges you are considering.

- Tax filing status
- Adjusted Gross Income (AGI)
- Number of exemptions and dependents
- Income earned from work
- Taxes paid
- Educational credits
- Untaxed IRA distributions
- IRA deductions and payments
- Tax exempt interest
- Untaxed pension amounts

Parental information is required unless you are at least 24 years of age or meet the criteria for filing as an independent student as described on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Refer to studentaid.gov.

Only parents who do not have a Social Security number can enter 000-00-0000 on the FAFSA.

You must report income and assets for yourself and for your parents (if you are a dependent student) or your spouse (if you are married).

Use income records for the year that is two years prior to the academic year for which you are applying: for instance, if you are filling out the 2025-26 FAFSA, you will need 2023 tax information.

OHS is currently seeking community volunteers to support our 2025 Resume Review Event at OHS February 26th from 845am-235pm. Volunteers should have a good foundation in reviewing and reading resumes for entry level employment opportunities. Volunteers will be providing feedback and encouragement to students in development of professional resumes for post high school.

This is an opportunity for experts in their field to inform and inspire students about specific careers of interest. Guest speakers can help equip our students with the knowledge they need to navigate their future professional paths and this valuable information can empower students to make informed career decisions.
