Recent Washington State Legislative action has ruled that Scoliosis screening for grades 5, 7, and 9 will no longer be done in Washington State Public Schools. Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine. It is not common but when detected, can be easily monitored by your Health Care Provider. Please make a note to discuss this important screening with your HCP at your child's next office visit. Early detection of this curvature of the spine will aid in early treatment before any physical symptoms occur. Please consult your School Nurse or HCP if you have any questions.
