This is my 10th year at Olympia High School and 19th year in the secondary education field. In addition to coordinating the Peer-Tutoring Program, I am the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Program Tutor Trainer and classroom support for grades 9-12. I am glad to be part of the FamOly staff dedicated to the success of each of our students.

The Peer-tutoring Program has been in place since 2008 Peer Tutoring at Olympia HSbeing funded with the help of a community benefactor and an OSDEF grant. Each year, I have the privilege of interviewing and hiring students from a variety of backgrounds and I am always impressed by their willingness to use their knowledge, skills and abilities in service to others. The tutors become employees of the Olympia School District and use the experience they gain while working in our program towards future college and career endeavors.

The Peer-Tutoring program serves hundreds of students at OHS and is now offered at Reeves Middle School's homework club.
