Brief modified lockdown lifted
Posted on 11/02/2017

Before school this morning, November 2, Olympia HS received a non-specific threatening telephone call. We alerted the Olympia Police Department, which directed us to go into a modified lockdown (we kept kids in the building with learning as usual and no travel between classes) until the police could investigate further.

It was determined that the source of this non-specific threat is part of an ongoing case that the Olympia PD is currently investigating. The police determined this was a non-credible threat. As a cautionary measure, the police did an inspection of our school and determined that we are safe and back on our regular school day.  Again, this threat is part of an ongoing investigation by the Olympia PD and other agencies of an individual from out-of-state.  As an extra precautionary measure, we will continue to have Olympia PD on site throughout the day.

As always, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
