Dear FamOly,

The time has come .. the time is here … it’s GO TIME where we *finally* got to welcome all of our NEW FamOly to OHS! It was great having our building bustling! If you came to Ms. Wilson's presentation in the PAC today for our new parents, I let Mr. Grant know about our technical difficulties and he had a good laugh - - as he almost ALWAYS has technical difficulties! If you didn't attend this morning, or you want to revisit the information, the SLIDEDECK is here. As always, if you have any questions, please let us know!

Our first day of school is on Thursday, September 3rd at 8:55am - 3:25pm - we will be on a Special Assembly Schedule! This is something that we have been working on and planning for all summer and we are super excited to FINALLY see all our students back 'home'! I know this can also be a time of uncertainty – especially for our new students -- and I want to help ease this transition as much as I can! Just remember - that there are over 515 new freshman this year! It’s a great time to make a new friend and try new things!

If you're feeling a bit overwhelmed about our campus, don't worry! There will be 100’s of us out and about with BRIGHT pink Bear Crew shirts on, to help you find your way, I’m attaching our OHS Bell Schedule & Map to help you plan out your day. This is a good resource for all of our students to familiarize themselves with where our hallways are located and what is the best way to get from period to period throughout the day. Please remember that all of our exterior doors are locked so you can NOT go out of Hall 1 and then enter into Hall 3! Sometimes, you just gotta take the long way around!

With that, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, are ready for your first day next THURSDAY! I also want to make sure you all know about the Spaghetti Bowl on Friday, Sept. 4th! It's the 50th anniversary of our cross-town rivalry football game and this year? We have a special half time performance by our BAND, our CHEER squad and our Pepperette's DANCE team!! Students are FREE for this game and the theme is NAVY out!!

GO BEARS!
~Wendy Rae, who is so excited to have you all back!

Schedules and the WHAT LUNCH DO I HAVE?

Today, schedules went live right after our Freshman Orientation, which caused a lot of ... feelings! Hopefully by now, you have all gotten logged into Skyward Family/Student access and can see them. If not? Refer back to our Summer Mailer which has all the information about how to access those systems!

If you find you have an error in your schedule or your plans changed, you can fill out the SCHEDULE CHANGE form and submit it to your counselor either via email or drop it off at school. IF your counselor can make your wish come true, you will see it happen live in Skyward. You do not need to email your counselor to check in or call!

Lunches are based off of your 4th period class. You either have 1st lunch and 4B, or 2nd lunch and 4A. Click HERE to see what lunch you have!

Parking, traffic and more!

STUDENT PARKING: Register your car for safety, so we can get ahold of you if anything happens! You can get your parking pass in the ASB office starting the 2nd week of school. Student parking is off the Carlyon Street entrance, Stadium lot, or the last two rows in the North Street Staff lot. DO NOT park in our Clocktower Circle as that's for visitors!

TRAFFIC: As you can imagine, loading in 2,000 students and staff can be a bit of a challenge, to put it mildly! My suggestion is to leave early, give each other grace and lots and lots of space!

Pickup/Drop off: If you will be picking up/dropping off your student, please follow the rules of the road! If you come through the circle at our North Street/Clocktower entrance, it's ONE WAY and you must TURN RIGHT.

NEW MARKET: We DO have transportation to/from New Market, as long as OHS has school (NMSC starts on 9/2 when we do NOT have school. Transportation is on your own, but you will not count against you if you can not go.)
AM: Departs at 6:52am
PM: Departs at 10:55am

TRANSPORTATION: If your student will be riding the school bus this year, make sure you check the Transportation tab in Skyward. If you haven't registered your student to ride the bus, fill out this form.
