Attendance Disciplinary Actions

Olympia High School has a progressive attendance procedure for all students. It is a four-step process that includes automated phone calls/texts/emails that go home every evening for unexcused absences.

 

Action Due to Unexcused Tardies and Absences:

  • Level 1 = Notify parent/guardian.
    • Suggested Range = 4 & 5
  • Level 2 = Restorative lunch circle.
    •  Suggested Range = 6 - 8
  • Level 3 = Parent/Guardian Conference
    • Restorative disciplinary measures may include:
      • Attendance Contract
      • Care Team Meeting Referral
      • Restorative lunch circle and/or Bear Time Intervention
    • Suggested Range = 9-12
  • Level 4 = Restorative Meeting with Admin.
    • Restorative disciplinary measures may include:
    • Restorative lunch circles, Bear Time Interventions, and/or Campus Service
    • Suggested Range = 9-12

 

Becca Bill: We follow the truancy guidelines as required by the State of Washington. A petition can be filed with juvenile court alleging a violation of RCW 28A.225.010 (the Becca Bill)
