This is my 9th year at Olympia High School and 18th year in education. In addition to coordinating the Peer-Tutoring Program, I am the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Program Tutor Trainer. I am glad to be part of the FamOly staff dedicated to the success of each of our students.

The Peer-tutoring Program has been in place since 2008 Peer Tutoring at Olympia HSbeing funded with the help of a community benefactor and an OSDEF grant. Each year, I have the privilege of interviewing and hiring students from a variety of backgrounds and I am always impressed by their willingness to use their knowledge, skills and abilities in service to others. The tutors become employees of the Olympia School District and use the experience they gain while working in our program towards future college and career endeavors.

We serve hundreds of OHS students each year and are proud to partner our tutors with Reeves Middle School’s after school program as well.
