College Search, Testing Information and more...

College View - An internet-based college search engine and applicaton service from Hobsons. College View refences a large database of over 3,000 two-year and four-year accredited colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The site provides information on schools, allowing users to create custom searches around information which they want to read and experience. Virtual tours and online applications are avaliable on the site.

College Board - This is an important site for testing and college planning, providing information about SAT, college selection, college visits, and financial aid.

Princeton Review - This site allows students to match their own unique preferences to schools, and gives student opinions and other data on more than 300 colleges.

U.S. News and World Report - A complete site that can help students compare colleges, apply online, prepare for testing.

Braintrack: College and University Directory - A site providing a directory of national and world-wide colleges and universities.  Scholarship information is also available. This siteis currently under construction and will be re-launched soon. Check back frequently.


Career Planning

Adventures in Education - A fantasic site on "Planning for a Career." At the home page, click on "Planning for college" or "Finding a career" for career information.

My Road - The College Board’s Web-based careers, majors, and college exploration tool.

ASVAB - A good site on Career Planning. Olympia High School offers this test once a year in February - please see the Career Center for more information.

Occupational Outlook Handbook - A web version of the updated handbook provided by the United States Department of Labor.

Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board - A good site with career planning resources.

Where are you going? - A booklet which will target your interests and abilities. Current Washington State employment data.

Career Cruising - a great site for College and Career Planning - also contains information on military and apprenticeships, as well as a resume builder.

The Wash Board - A great scholarship where users can create a personalized profile to match them up with appropriate scholarship options.

Fastweb - A large free database of over 600,000 scholarships for customized scholarship searches.

College Success Foundation - This site provides valuable information on college scholarships and mentoring to low-income and high potential students.

The Financial Aid Information Page - A great site for general information on financial aid.

FAFSA Online/Department of Education - A Site which will allow a student to fill out their FAFSA online.
