Edward N. (Ed) Bassett
I'm from Georgia. I graduated from the University of Georgia (Bulldogs) in 1978 with a BS in Plant Science. After working as a crop specialist in North Georgia for a few years, I went back to academia to pursue a MS in Plant Pathology at the University of Arkansas (Razorbacks). In 1983 I completed my MS and moved to WSU to do research involving the interactions between microbes and plant roots. For reasons that are too complicated to explain, I decided to teach science instead of doing science. So I became a student once again and finished my teaching degree from WSU in 1989. I became an Oly Bear that fall, and have been here ever since. My wife and I have 2 boys who graduated from OHS in 2008 and 2013. I have a dog named Willibelle.
