OLYMPIA HIGH SCHOOL  DRIVER’S EDUCATION   2017-18


Dates:
Nov 16 – Dec 14, 2017                    

 

Class Time:
2:30 – 4:30 pm, M/T/TH

1:30 – 3:30 pm, W

No class on Friday

 

Driving:
A total of six (6) hours of driving, with the instructor must be scheduled, outside of class.

Olympia High School, P-4

 

Cost:
$460, sign up in the main office

Mandatory Parent/Student Night:

Please join us on November 28th for our information night.  It will be at 6:00 pm in the OHS Library.  Special guest speaker will be the Thurston County Coroner.

 

FAQ’s and What’s Next?

  1. Must be 15 years old on or before the first day of class.

  2. To register for class, you simply need to make a payment.  You can do this either by coming into the office, paying over the phone with credit/debit card, or email and request the class fee  be assigned to pay via Skyward Family Access.

  3. The DOL Knowledge test is included in the course fee and will be entered electronically on the last day of the course. 

  4. The DOL Driving test is not included in our course fee.  (Other local driving schools that offer the driving portion of the test are 911 and Cascade.)

 

Before class begins:

  1. Pre-apply for your first Washington license by going to the Washington State Department of Licensing website http://www.dol.wa.gov/  and click on the “Get a driver license” link.  Follow the prompts for “Steps to getting your first license”, “Instruction permits” and then scroll down to #3 “pre-apply online”. 

     

    (If you already have a Washington State ID, you do NOT need to do this.)

     

  2. Email your permit/confirmation number/State ID number to Mrs. Rae at wrae@osd.wednet.edu.

  3. Within 10 days of class starting, we will submit the electronic waiver that verifies you are enrolled in an approved Driver’s Education class.

  4. Go into any DOL office, pay for your permit, and begin driving!
