What You Need

Have current physical on file

Physicals are valid for a 13-month period from the date of the examination.  Updates to old physicals can not be accepted.

Purchase a $40 ASB Card

All students are required to pay a $40 ASB card PRIOR to trying out for a sport or team

Pay the $125 Pay to Play fee (See Athletic Fees Below)

Students trying out for "cut sports" do not need to pay the Pay to Play until AFTER tryouts.  Once a student has made a team, they will be declared "ineligible" from practice and competition if fee is not paid WITHIN 3 DAYS of making a team.

Athletic Fees

  • A $125 pay to play fee is required for EACH sport to help off-set costs of OHS athletics.  Students are required to pay the established fee at the time of registration for non-cut sports.

  • All cut sports will require the fee to be paid within THREE days of making a team.  If not paid, students will be ruled ineligible.

  • Cut sports are dependent on the number of student-athletes who turn out.

  • Typically football, baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis and volleyball are cut sports.

  • The $125 Pay to Play fee will be waived for all students who are currently in the Olympia School District free or reduced lunch program.

Please print and sign the free or reduced lunch program release form so that we may obtain your program participation verification.

How the Clearance Process Works

On the dates listed above, students will purchase an ASB card, pay the Pay to Play fee, as well as clear any fines they may have.  Their clearance packet will be reviewed and collected.  PLEASE make sure all forms and signatures are complete, insurance information is clearly provided and physical exam documentation is up to date.  Previous semester grade checks will be conducted.  Those with a failing grade from their previous semester will be placed on academic probation and will be ineligible for the first 5 weeks of the season.  If you have any questions, please contact Brandi Sorem, our Athletic Secretary, at (360)596-7077.
