Parent Connection

OHS Parent Connection provides a way for parents and guardians to "connect" with each other and the OHS administration. Monthly meetings provide a forum for sharing ideas and concerns, asking questions, staying informed, and being involved in school policies, programs, and activities. An OHS administrator attends to answer questions and address concerns. Periodically, the Parent Connection presents special evening programs on topics of interest to parents.

The Parent Connection also coordinates the following activities: hosting the fall morning coffees for parents of new/freshman students, preparing and distributing a handbook, assisting with student registration at Arena, and supporting staff through a variety of staff appreciation activities. If you are interested in contributing time, expertise, or money, please contact the membership chairperson.

Parent Connection is not a fundraising group and does not participate in any fundraising activities.

Dues are used to cover the cost of printing the handbook and other mailings that provide information to parents and guardians. In the past the Parent Connection has been able to provide a scholarship to one or two students who wish to continue their education and who have coped with unusual challenges to graduate. OHS counselors choose the recipients of this award.

A copy of the handbook is available to anyone paying the $12 dues. If you would like to become more involved or if you have any questions, contact any member listed here. As a parent or guardian of a student at Olympia High School, you are a member of Parent Connection. Please join our meeting!!

Meetings are usually held on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00-8:30 pm in Room 1.
