Kiwanis Garden - Almost 7 tons of fresh, organic produce to the Thurston County Food Bank last year. Saturday, 9/10 10-Noon - Stream Team. Tree Planting along Allen Creek (Near Scott Lake)
Help plant native trees and shrubs along Allen Creek to help stabilize the stream bank and shade the creek.  We will bring gloves, tools, snacks and refreshments. Sturdy boots or shoes are recommended.  Please dress for the weather.  Youth under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.  Youth under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver form (available on-site or go to: [ http://www.streamteam.info/ ]www.streamteam.info to download a copy).  For directions to the planting site, go to: [ http://www.streamteam.info ]www.streamteam.info .

Saturday, 10/8, 10-3.  Glacial Heritage   BRING A SACK LUNCH TO THIS ONE, AND GET ALL 5 HOURS IN ONE DAY.  PARENTS INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.  THIS AREA HAS BEEN IN THE NEWS A LOT LATELY.  COME AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF WHAT ALL THE CONTROVERSY IS ABOUT.  INTERESTING GEOLOGICAL FEATURES, AND INTERESTING HISTORY (NATIVES MADE THE PRAIRIE 1000 YEARS AGO...IS IT NATURAL AND WORTH PRESERVING?)
 We will be meeting at Glacial Heritage on Saturday October 8th 2011.  Events for the day include- cleaning seeds for Anita.  These seeds are need to be cleaned so we can return them to our prairies during this falls/ winter restoration practices.  Additionally, we will continue to pull broom in designated areas.  Last time we pulled broom we accomplished a lot and hope we can cover the whole area by next spring!  Additionally, Marion may be doing some seed collection if weather permits.

Please make sure to bring gloves, a lunch, rain gear, water and a smile etc.  DIRECTIONS TO Glacial Heritage:
Take I-5 to exit 95 (the Littlerock exit) about 10 miles south of Olympia. Go west through Littlerock to the T-intersection at the Mima Road/Waddell Creek.  Go south (left) on Mima Road 2.7 miles and take a left onto a gravel road with sign for GH, you will see a tractor sign and then the turn. Please be sure to adhere to the 15 mph speed limit on this road as there are often dogs and small children active nearby. Follow the road through the gate.  Take the first right to get to the house.

Continue Ivy Pull . No registration. First come, first serve. Max capacity 50 minors. Attached Waiver required for minors.
Meet at Priest Point Park Shelter #2. Time: 10am-1pm

Sunday, Jan 22, 2012  9 AM - 1 PM –    Woodland Trail Greenway Association – Trail improvements
Come help us plant 100 trees near the Fones Road crossing of the Woodland Trail, just south of Pacific Avenue on Fones Road.  Walk 1/4 mile West, toward Olympia, on the Woodland Trail and look for the white tent.
Park in the Ross or Cash and Carry parking lots, but NOT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ANY BUSINESS.
