CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
You
are expected to attend every class and to be on time. I will follow the
school attendance policy as outlined in the student handbook. If you
are not in the classroom when the bell rings you will be marked tardy.
You
are expected to make up all assignments missed due to excused absences
and to submit the work with the same number of days that you were
absent. You are responsible for finding out what you have missed from
me. If you do not submit missed work within the allowable time period,
it will not be accepted.
Assignments must be turned in when asked for in order to receive full credit. Points will be deducted for late work, and will only be accepted one day after the due date.
You will come to class with your text, paper, and pencils each day. Failure to be prepared will negatively affect your grade.
Pagers, cell phones, music devices and the like will be turned off and put away upon entering the classroom. (PARENTS : Please do not call your child on their cell phone. If there is an emergency, contact the main office and they will notify your child)
No hoods may be worn in the classroom.
No food or drink other than water is allowed into the classroom.
You
are expected to be respectful towards other students, the teacher, and
guests. This is demonstrated by listening silently when others are
speaking and actively participating in lessons.
CHEATING
Cheating
will not be tolerated. Cheating includes, but is not limited to,
looking at or copying off of someone else's work, allowing someone else
to look at or copy off your work, discussing or showing test items to
students who haven't yet taken the test, using a non-sanctioned “cheat
sheet” during the test, plagiarizing or taking someone else's work and
claiming it as your own, leaving the classroom with a quiz or test that has not yet been scored, etc.
GRADES
Grades
will be based on successful completion of all student-learning
objectives, as measured by tests, quizzes, and assignments. Please see the class syllabus (handed out and sent home at the beginning of the school year) for the specific grade scale and weighting for the class.
Please note: I do not round grades either up or down (Examples: a 59.99% is a failing grade, and a 79.99% is a C+) . I do not provide "extra credit" or "extra projects". I will give you many opportunities to demonstrate your abiilities, and you need to take advantage of every one of those opportunities.
