Leadership Projects

Leadership is an intergal part of education. Leadership activities provide opportunity for personal development and preparation for adult life. When you have completed one of the following activities, be sure to fill out a leadership form and obtain the required signature. A total of 300 points for the semester is required for leadership.

Activities

1. Member of a school club (25)

2. Participate in an activity for school club (25)

3. Peer Tutor (50)

4. Report on a family community agency (25)

5. Present a relevant curriculum news article to class (25)

6. Active in team sport, band, choir, orchestra, etc. (25)

7. Hold an outside job (25)

8. Arrange a guest speaker (25)

Community Projects 

Make Something Happen

This project is designed to create an activity that is fun, safe and legal. The purpose of doing this project is to show that there are many things to do in Olympia if you put your mind to it. You are to do something that you would not normally do (the more creative the better). You are to write what you did and show how you felt about it.

Examples- take a yoga class, cook a meal that you have never cooked before, make inspirational cards and pass them out, etd...

When you write your paper to receive full credit you must be very detailed on what your did, how (list of details of how you planned it), when, with whom and how you felt. 1/2 page typed, single spaced, 12pt font and 1" margins. You must get an okay from Mrs. Turcotte before you start. You also must have your parent/guardian signature to verify the activity. (100) 

 

Volunteer in your Community

You will need to do 10 hours of community service. Examples- picking up litter in your neighborhood, raking your neighbors lawn, local food banks, Bread and Roses, Salvation Army, going to a retirement center and spending time with someone, etc...

You will need to write what you did, including when, where, how and why you chose the specific community service. 1/2 page typed single spaced, 12pt font, 1" margins.(100)
