Extra Credit

Wearing a Costume

  • Bonus points are awarded for costumes related to the dance or time period.
  • Costumes must meet the OHS Dress Code.
  • .5 to 2 EC points can be earned per day

Teaching a Dance

  • Students can discuss a dance topic to teach individually or with a partner to receive extra credit.
  • Students need to see Mrs. Garrison to further discuss this option and find an appropriate time to follow through with this opportunity.
  • Students must follow-through on their assignment day to teach or point deductions will ensue

Making a CD

Each student can make up to 2 CDs per semester following the details below . . .

  • This CD must be a CD that Mrs. Garrison can keep and use for the Dancing Through the Decades class this year and in the future.
  • The CD needs to be labeled with the type of music it contains (1950's, Country Western, Paso Doble, etc.).
  • Please group the similiar music together (Samba music, then Salsa music, then Merengue music, etc.)
  • Please number the songs and list the song title, artist, song length, and if you know bpm (beats per minute)
  • Also, please label the case and/or CD with the song title and artist (if avilable)
  • The CD needs to include a minimum of 15 songs or 45 minutes of playing time
  • Of couse the lyrics are school appropriate (free from swearing and innappropriate content)!
  • If the CD follows the directions above, it will be equivalent to a PE make-up or a day in class (4 points for particpation).
  • Remeber that PE make-ups can only be earned for days that are excused. If students do not need PE make-up days, then the points will be added as extra credit for the week that CD is turned in.
