    • Julius Caesar Act II ResponseYour essay on Act II should focus on characterization (which includes physical description, dialogue, actions, thoughts, and judgments by others). You will write the essay in 45 uninterrupted minutes. The essay needs a clear thesis and quotes from the play to support it. The essay should be organized logically and be double-spaced.     • Prompt: What is the most important message readers can take away from Orwell’s books, in particular 1984? Select one idea or issue (totalitarianism, surveillance, Newspeak, doublethink, censorship, language, propaganda, torture, brainwashing, thought police, etc.) and discuss its relevance to today.
