RUNNING START
Running Start is a program designed for eligible juniors and seniors to enroll in college level courses at South Puget Sound Community College to receive both high school and college credit. In order to qualify for the program students must have permission of their parents, recommendation of their high school, and they must comply with all college requirements including placement testing and maintenance of acceptable academic standing. Although not required, it is highly recommended that high school students have a "B" average. Running Start students pay no college tuition; however, they are responsible for the purchase of textbooks, supplies, transportation, parking and other necessary fees. Even though Running Start students register for classes through the OHS Counseling Center, they are encouraged to attend an orientation meeting at SPSCC prior to enrolling.

Here's an important detail! Running start students must complete a Culminating Project, High School Beyond Plan and WASL in order to graduate. It is the responsibility of each and every Running Start Student to make sure all requirements are met. Meet with your High School Counselor regularly, to get the answers to questions you may have and to make a plan to complete these requirements.
You are invited to attend information sessions to learn more about Running Start and hear from Director, Anne Molenda.
