Does your college application have a Secondary School Report that needs to be done by your counselor? If it has a January 1 deadline or sooner, we need your paperwork in the Counseling Center and/or the email invite by Wednesday, November 26, so that it can be completed before we leave on Winter Break.

Scholarships
Florence Brewer Scholarship - Three awards ($1000, $750 and $500) to a student of either sex graduating from a Thurston County high school. Financial need, dependability, leadership, and essay required. Student must attend a college in Washington state. Deadline: December 17.
International Leader of Tomorrow - for students attending the University of British Columbia only. We can nominate one student from OHS to compete for this $14,000 award. Resume required. Deadline: Jan. 7
Ewing Kelly Foundation Scholarships - Awards of $2500 for students who demonstrate good citizenship and high academic success. Financial assessment form, essays, resume, and transcript required. Deadline: March 10.
Nathan Lee Hovde Memorial Art Scholarship - One scholarship of $500 to a graduating senior in Thurston or Lewis County who plans on pursing a higher education in art. Recommendations, portfolio, and essay required. Deadline: March 13.
Thurston County Cattlewomen Beef Scholarship - One $500 scholarship to a student involved in 4H or FFA Beef Programs. Deadline: May 1.

Gates Millennium Scholars - Financial assistance for minority, low-income students with at least a 3.3 gpa. Paper submissions due December 31; online by January 11. Go to www.gmsp.org.
Entrepreneurial Scholarships - Up to $10,000 per year for four years for students who run their own business and have employees. Deadline: January 25. Go to www.mckelveyfoundation.org.
Truman Picard Scholarship Program - $1500 for graduating seniors who are enrolled members of native american tribes who are pursuing higher education in Natural Resources. Go to www.itcnet.org. Deadline: Jan. 30.
KFC Colonel's Scholars - Scholarships for seniors with financial need and entrepreneurial spirit attending college within the state of Washington. Go to www.kfcscholars.org between December 1 and February 10.
Big Sun Scholarship - $500 scholarship for high school athlete who will attend a post secondary school and be involved in sports. Go to www.bigsunathletics.com. Deadline June 27, 2009.
Foundation for Individual Rights in Education - essay contest with a $5000 and $2500 scholarship. Go to: thefire.org. Deadline: Nov. 20.
U.S. Bank Scholarships - thirty $1000 scholarships drawn at random. Go to www.usbank.com/student banking. Deadline: February 2009
Burger King Scholarship - Awards of $1000 for students with a 2.5 gpa who work an average of 15 hours per week. Go to www.bk.com/scholars and use the access key: BKS.
