Week of September 28 -- Counselors present information about graduation, senior status letter, college applications, and financial aid to seniors in senior social studies classes

October 1-- Senior Parent meeting 6:30 PM in Commons; Information from counselors about college applications and financial aid will be given, along with senior picture information, senior ad information, and  presentation from senior parents regarding the grad night activity

October 5 -- Registration for PSAT begins at OHS in ticket booth

October 6 -- Counselors present information to juniors in 11th Grade English classes about the PSAT and post-high school options

October 7 -- Counselors present information to sophomores in 10th Grade Honors English classes about PSAT

October 17 -- PSAT 7:30 AM; Students must register ahead of time  (All juniors are encouraged to take the PSAT)

October 19 -- Senior Status letters with transcripts and graduation reguirements mailed home to parents

October 30 -- Senior Status form due back to Counseling Center; student indicate how name is printed on diploma

October 19-22 -- Counselors meet with 9th graders in Freshman English classes to go over requirements for graduation and ways to be successful in high school

November -- Seniors apply to college; most are online

November -- Seniors give counselors information for independent college application letter of recommendation and secondary school report  (note: public universities do not need a letter of recommendation)

November 9 -- Financial Aid Night for parents and students at 6:30 PM in PAC

January 1 - FAFSA form completed for college financial aid online

January-March -- Seniors apply to scholarships (see Senior Notes for information)

February 15-25 -- Counselors present career planning and  online Navigation 101 curriculum to 10th graders

May or June - All juniors should take the SAT or ACT- register 2-3 months ahead, because sites fill up

Summer - Juniors are encouraged to take a college campus tour
