Matt Loes- Head Coach
Coach Loes enters his 1st season as head coach of the Olympia Bears. Loes brings with him 10 years of head coaching expericence from South Puget Sound Community College, along with over 200 wins. Coach Loes' successful recruiting and aggressive hitting approach helped SPSCC break all National Collegiate Home-Run records in 2006 with 135 in 51 games and also 608 runs scored which is a NWAACC record, helping earn "Coach of the Year" honors for a second time. Loes is a veteran fastpitch player of 18 seasons out of the Olympia area, recieving numerous awards for hitting, member of a Regional Championship team, and played in 3 National Championship tournaments. Loes has coached youth fastpitch and baseball for the last 10 years and has put on many successful clinics since 1999. Loes has a strong passion for fastpitch and is determined to help players of all ages to continue to be successful in this sport. Matt and his wife Jena, have been married for 20 years and have a 17 year old daughter Eden, and a 14 year old son Jacob. "I am very excited to be part of the Bears Fastpitch program and look forward to the challenges of the competitive Narrows League."
